Karla Ramos, AMFT APCC

I am a bilingual therapist currently residing in Santa Barbara, California. Originally from NYC, I grew up in a Dominican neighborhood where my aspiration to become a therapist began. Noticing the need as early as middle school, I started on my educational path to become a therapist and have never looked back.

Currently, I am an AMFT and APCC, primarily focused on a multicultural approach to therapy under the supervision of Susan Soderman, LMFT (License #98962). I have clinical experience working with high school students and their families, as well as the aging population. In my work, I hold the belief that clients possess the capacity for growth and healing, and my role is to support and facilitate their journey. By helping clients explore and comprehend their inner experiences, I aim to empower them to unlock their own potential for change and self-improvement.

Active in my professional community, I serve on the board of Therapists of Santa Barbara, where I direct social media efforts to enhance community engagement and outreach. This role allows me to stay connected with the latest developments in the field and contribute to the growth of our local network.

In addition to my professional work, I practice what I preach by engaging in my own therapy, as I believe it is essential for therapists to undergo their own therapeutic processes to best support their clients. While I have a strong affinity for city life, my time in California has fostered a newfound appreciation for nature, and I have come to enjoy exploring the great outdoors with my little Papillon, Nochie.
