Juliette Raynaud, AMFT
I’ve worked with adolescents (ages 11-17), adults, couples, and families in both intensive outpatient and non-profit clinical settings. Starting this journey can be overwhelming and new, especially when we feel motivated to take those first steps toward healing but struggle to achieve progress. I have a passion for working with teens who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or engaging in unhelpful behaviors like substance use, self-injury, or school refusal/disinterest. In doing so, I also support families who are struggling with parenting their teens. With clinical experience working with adult populations, I enjoy helping those who struggle to find purpose, meaning in their lives, and want to make changes to become their best selves. I provide empathy, compassion, and evidence-based tools to help my clients experience self-discovery and gain clarity. Building an accepting and non-judgmental relationship with our emotions and thoughts can make life more manageable and worthwhile.
I incorporate tools from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), EMDR, somatic therapy (body-mind), and other evidence-based approaches. Some of my clients undergo EMDR on an every-other-week basis while engaging in talk therapy during the weeks in between. For families and couples, I focus on naming emotions and enhancing relationship dynamics, drawing from emotionally focused and attachment-focused therapy.
Outside of sessions, I enjoy experimenting with new recipes at home and trying new restaurants in Santa Barbara. I love going on walks and running at my favorite spots, like the Douglas Preserve, Hendry’s Beach, and the Bird Refuge/East Beach (highly recommended!). On weekends, I love to visit new places and go on road trips whenever I can.
I am currently under the supervision of Susan Soderman, LMFT #98962.
